Victor Etim (Bankz) is a Lagos-based photographer and visual artist creating bold, refined, and emotionally driven imagery across fashion, beauty, lifestyle, and portraiture.
My journey with photography began during my university days. What started as curiosity slowly became an obsession. I was fascinated by the idea that a camera could transform an ordinary moment, person, or idea into something that could be remembered forever.
Over the years, that curiosity grew into a craft, and eventually into a career. I’ve built my approach around a simple belief: ART OR NOTHING.
Today, I see photography as more than simply taking pictures. It is a form of storytelling, a way of translating personality, emotion, movement, and ideas into a visual language.
My work is influenced by fashion, culture, people, and the constant pursuit of becoming better. I’m intentional about the details: the lighting, composition, expression, styling, and atmosphere. Every element has to serve the image.
Visually, my work lives between refined luxury and raw editorialism. I’m drawn to images that feel sophisticated but still have character; polished but never lifeless.
Photography has taken me from learning the fundamentals in university to building a career around creating images for people, brands, and stories that deserve to be seen differently.
And I’m still evolving.
I don’t believe a great photograph should simply look good. It should have presence. It should make you stop, feel, and remember.
I’m not interested in creating what has already been done. I’m interested in creating work that feels intentional, distinctive, and unmistakably its own.
Art Or Nothing.
